Jeni Robertson
I have been learning about and appreciating art for over 30 years. My formal training commenced at the Julian Ashton Art School at the Rocks in Sydney Australia, under the guidance of Richard Ashton, and his “Plein Air” classes in 1986 – 1988.
My work is Contemporary Abstract, and my inspiration comes from Peter Doig, Chagall, Turner, Cezanne and many overseas adventures. I forever explore a variety of mediums to ensure the final work reflects the joys of discovery, experiences and feelings. My work is not limited to one subject matter. My love of colour and different environments and various cultures inspires and feeds my imaginations.
I moved to the Middle East in 1989 for eight years which inspired me to look at other mediums and styles. Since returning to Australia in 1996 I have studied with, Lyn Hammond and Anne Bourne, Art Focus Gallery Brookvale NSW, Larrissa Blake, Mitchell School of Arts, University, Bathurst NSW, Piña Bortelo, Life Drawing Narrabeen NSW, Terance Hadler, and Jan Cristado.
I exhibit regularly in galleries and exhibitions in Europe and Australia. I have taken many commissions for my work for overseas and Australian private collections.
